Whether you’ve got a business idea and you want to know if it’ll work, if you’re further down the track and you’re ready to get started on your first business, you’ve had businesses before and you want to refresh your memory, or you have an existing business and you want to brush up on specific topics.
You’re all welcome!
What is Startup September?
Startup September is a series of workshops spread across the month of (can you guess?) September, designed to give you the tools you need to get your business up and running.
Each workshop topic is delivered by a subject matter expert who owns or has owned at least one business.
There’s an accompanying workbook for you to record the knowledge that you build, so by the end of the month you’ll have an action plan to launch your very own business.
Where is Startup September held?
This year, we’re holding our Startup September in Darwin, The Launch at Darwin Botanic Gardens Event Centre, and stay tuned for the announcement of our workshop locations!
But Startup September is available to everyone throughout the NT – all of the workshops will be streamed live and recorded, and last year the majority of participants attended online.
So, whether you’re in Alice Springs, Katherine, Tennant Creek, Nhulunbuy, Yulara, Borroloola, Humpty Doo or anywhere in the NT, you can take part in Startup September and launch your business!
For more info about the ins-and-outs of how you can access Startup September, see our FAQ.
Who runs Startup September?
Startup September is run by Business Enterprise Centre NT, who have been providing business mentorship to our 6,000 members and the NT business community since 2000.
We’re a team of Business Mentors who have all owned businesses and who care deeply about the success of individual business owners, and the success of the NT economy as a whole.
Thanks to our mentors’ first-hand experience of starting, building, and running businesses, we understand the transformative effects of business ownership – for individuals to take control of their lives and realise their dreams, for their families to benefit from increased economic prosperity, for their local communities to have vibrant businesses, and to add jobs and economic strength to the NT.
With all of that in mind, Startup September is a no-brainer – by helping your business, we’re helping all of us. A win-win for everyone!
